Love at First Sight=Motherhood

As many of you know, I have been "expecting" my first child, a surprise.  In fact, today, May 18th is my actual due date.  I am proud to announce that my little man, Tobias Jack Hood, decided to enter the world on Tuesday, May 10th.  I now know what it means to be in love at first sight!  As I've blogged about before, pregnancy was not my favorite condition of living.  Well, I hated labor!  I'm pretty sure most people would agree with that statement...after all, it's called labor for a reason.  Mine lasted from 1:30 a.m. until 12:19 p.m., actually not that bad for the first time.  I was able to have a natural birth, free of any pain medication, which I am very thankful for.  However, I broke most of the blood vessels in my eyes, face and chest while pushing, something that I was unaware could happen.  Despite the initial "halloween" appearance (something that has greatly improved now just over a week later), in the end it is definitely all well worth it.  I'm a MOM!  And I love my little boy with all that I am, so much I tear up just writing this.  Here he is:

Take each moment with all you have, he will be growing so quickly, so for now....hold him and love on him as much as you possibly can. God has truly blessed you today for now you are a MOM :)

  18. uniquecozytreasures - Leah, Congratulations on the birth of your baby. He is absolutely adorable and thanks for sharing the photos with us. Sorry you had such a painful delivery. I admire you for doing it the natural way with no meds. It is well worth it for the baby. I did it with one of mine and I think I may have passed out for a second on the way into the delivery room(lol). But he was really alert at delivery which was so nice and healthy. Have fun!

  19. OMG he is sooooo adorable. I have never had experiences with newborns until less than 4 months ago. I now have an almost 4 month old nephew and almost 3 month old neice, and I can't imagine loving anything more. They are absolutley amazing creatures.

And I knew about the blood vessels. My mom broke all the ones in her face during labor with her first child, who was unfortunately stillborn.

It's amazing the things we do for love! Congrats on your sweet son!!!
