Shout Out Thursday: Crimson Hill Soaps & Scents

As part of my blog, Thursdays are for a SURPRISE "Shout Out" to another ETSY store for product information and a review, by me. These stores are ones that I have personally done business with and have been impressed with both their product and service.  With my recent venture into motherhood, I've been a little behind in the blogging world and its time to get back on track.  So today lets chat about:

Crimson Hill Soaps & Scents, a shop specializing in hand-poured bath and body products.  The owner Angie writes in her profile "I take great pride in creating my handcrafted soaps and select bath and body products by only using the finest and highest quality cosmetic-grade ingredients. I truly enjoy the artistic process that soap making is!"  Her soaps are beautiful!  I recently purchased from the shop a bar of the Moisturizing Milks Soap-Goat, Soy, Buttermilk & Coconut Milks.  The description of this soap explains that it "is made from naturally derived ingredients including glycerin and natural oils and is SLS and Paraben-free! It combines Goat Milk, Soya Milk, Coconut Milk and Buttermilk to provide the ultimate pampering your skin has ever felt!  These FOUR milks will leave your skin wrapped in divine moisture and nourishment while the nutrients and vitamins go to work regenerating skin cells, improving elasticity and restoring softness. This will quickly become your new everyday soap!"  Well, I loved it so much I've ordered 2 more bars!  The soap comes as pictured here, was quickly shipped and is absolutely wonderful!

The shop recently launched a 6 bar sampler pack that is a perfect way to try out a few of their soaps or have convenient 2 oz size bars for traveling or out of town guests.  There are so many wonderful options that will leave you skin nourished and beautiful.  Be sure to check out Crimson Hill Soaps & Scents today!

Love at First Sight=Motherhood

As many of you know, I have been "expecting" my first child, a surprise.  In fact, today, May 18th is my actual due date.  I am proud to announce that my little man, Tobias Jack Hood, decided to enter the world on Tuesday, May 10th.  I now know what it means to be in love at first sight!  As I've blogged about before, pregnancy was not my favorite condition of living.  Well, I hated labor!  I'm pretty sure most people would agree with that statement...after all, it's called labor for a reason.  Mine lasted from 1:30 a.m. until 12:19 p.m., actually not that bad for the first time.  I was able to have a natural birth, free of any pain medication, which I am very thankful for.  However, I broke most of the blood vessels in my eyes, face and chest while pushing, something that I was unaware could happen.  Despite the initial "halloween" appearance (something that has greatly improved now just over a week later), in the end it is definitely all well worth it.  I'm a MOM!  And I love my little boy with all that I am, so much I tear up just writing this.  Here he is:

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!!! to all the wonderful moms out there.  I have been so blessed with an amazing mother who I, along with 4 of my 7 siblings, was able to have lunch with today.  It was nice to honor her with hugs, kisses, gifts and love!  It's something she deserves everyday!  My husband and I also got to spend time with his mother and family earlier in the day.  We are so thankful for our mothers and all the love they have brought and continue to bring into our lives!

The weather was so beautiful today, so we decided to take an afternoon walk at a local park with our ever ready chocolate lab, Bailey.  It was so nice to see so many families out together, grilling and playing games....I have to assume for Mother's Day!  What a great idea.  I brought my camera along for the walk and we snapped some photos of a few of the many birds we saw along the way.  Take a peek:

Oh, this last one isn't a bird.  LOL.  This is Bailey and I taking a break.  And I am rocking one of my favorite flower headbands from an awesome ETSY shop, Powers of Love.  Check it out today!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

To Deal or Not to Deal

Some of you are familiar with the site HEARTSY where various ETSY shops are featured offering exclusive limited time voucher deals.  I tried it out for the first time recently, purchasing a voucher that I used to order custom muslim bags for my merchandise.  I can't wait to get them!  It got me thinking, at the discount offered by most of the shops, is it truly worth if for the shopowner?  It is definitely a great way to get traffic to your shop if you are featured, and although it is not the best way to make a huge profit, hopefully it will bring back repeat customers.  So to deal or not to deal?  I've decided to give it whirl and see if I can get featured.  Help me out by voting "definitely yes" here:

And here's some work found in my shop, both new, renewed & updated:
