Blog Hop

I entered this blog hop on Crafty Creations

Wedding Trends 2011

My shop has a variety of items with many great gifts for everyone.  However, a good portion of my work is dedicated to weddings with bouquets, boutonnieres, jewelry, and hair accessories.  Weddings are a so much fun, such an amazing celebration of love and life, and a great place to add individualization and personality.  Taking the advice one of my fellow bloggers, I've started to think about the importance of knowing my target clientele and also the purpose of my blog.  So, today I've decided to share some wedding trends for 2011.   Here's 5 trends  I found at the BeautyBridal.com

1Vintage touches

2Eco-friendly weddings

3Modern choices

4DIY weddings

5Social media influence

I'll be sure to try to keep these ideas in mind as I develop new products for my shop.  Here's a few items I currently have for sale in my shop that fit in with some of these themes:

Reclaimed Ivory Silk Bridal Flower Clip

Set of 4 Yellow Industrial Steampunk Boutonnieres

Eco-friendly Reclaimed Sarah Coventry Pearl Necklace & Earring Set

HELP ME GROW!

Custom OOAK Rainbow Origami Bouquet
Origami Bouquet
After much deliberation, my husband and I have decided that I will resign from my current job to care for our new infant son full time.  My day job for almost the past 2 years has been as an Elderly Protective Service worker, which means I investigated reports of elder abuse in the community and coordinated/provided intervention.  After 9 weeks of maternity leave, I have to say that although I miss my peers, I do not miss dealing with problems every single day.

Although I am thrilled & excited to be a stay-at-home mom (something I never thought I would be saying), I am also scared!  We can't afford it, plain and simple.  I still need to bring in a smallish income, and hope to focus on my business, both online and locally to make up the difference.

SO, help me grow my business!  Spread the word to brides-to-be you know seeking alternative bouquets, boutonnieres, and jewelry.  Tell you friends about my shop who are looking for unique gifts.  Book an in-home party to earn free stuff and discounts if you live locally, and don't forgot to pick something up just for you!

How quick we grow....

My son was 8 weeks old yesterday.  He is already out of the newborn clothes and most of the 0-3 month items, wearing true 3 month clothing items.  Everyone says "they grow quick" and I am witnessing firsthand how true this is.  It is truly amazing how we grow from the littlest seeds in our mother's wombs into rapidly changing growing complex human beings!  My son's name is Tobias, which means "God is good."  As a mom watching my son grow, I really don't believe there could be a truer statement.  God is good!

MIA...but still in action!

SO, I cannot believe I haven't posted anything since June 15th.  Time flies when you're having fun...being a mom!  While I haven't been blogging, I have been busy filling some custom orders and making some origami bouquets for a local gallery gift shop.  Here's some examples of what I've been up to:
